The FIA has launched a new set of technical regulations aimed at helping national and regional motorsport organisers to create entry level front-wheel drive racing categories, with the aim of rebuilding the pyramid which places the current global TCR technical regulations at its top.

The KUMHO FIA TCR World Tour yesterday published a revised calendar for its 2024 season, with the series dropping the two rounds in Australia from the back-end of the calendar due to logistical issues — with the series unable to get the cars and equipment from South America to Asia/Australia in time to compete in both China and Australia.

The fast-growing TCR Spain series put on a unique pair of races this month, hosting its own pre-season series, setting up four races as a far more interesting concept than a collection of winter test days — and while the current TCR South America champion Ignacio Montenegro secured the title, he had a close fight with the second-generation driver Eric Gené, son of CUPRA Racing development driver Jordi.

New outfit GOAT Racing will compete in the new KUMHO FIA TCR World Tour in 2024, running a pair of the latest generation Honda Civic Type R FL5 TCRs, with the team’s drivers to be confirmed at a later date.
